IAWD with support of the Danube Water Program and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) will organize a short workshop on "Water Safety Planning and Crisis Management" in the frame of the IWA Eastern European Young Water Professionals Conference taking place on 7-12 May 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia (www.iwa-ywp.eu).

The aim of the workshop, which will be organized on 7-8 May 2018, is to give some snapshots of the D-LeaP Program “Water Safety and Crisis Management: Business Continuity Essentials for Disaster Risk Management”, which will be offered in the course of this year within the Danube region.

In the workshop, Participants will learn how to identify operational hazards and how to plan, prepare and respond to these incidents for fast recovery in the event of a crisis or disaster. Please note that this workshop will not replace the participation in the D-LeaP Program “Water Safety and Crisis Management: Business Continuity Essentials for Disaster Risk Management”, but should promote the program among the participating utilities.

The training is tailor-made for staff of water utilities, but can be also attended by other water professionals depending on the available space. The workshop will be delivered in English language and participants are requested to bring their private laptop.

Please be aware that the workshop is FREE of charge, but participants have to pay for travel and accommodation. As the space is limited, a certain contingent of workshop seats is reserved for water utility staff below the age of 35 (Young Water Professionals), but participants of all ages are welcome to register.
