UN-Water has recently published the SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2018 on Water and Sanitation to provide input to the HLPF in its in-depth review of SDG 6. The report represents a joint position from the UN family on the global status on SDG 6 and other water-related targets.

On Monday 9 July, during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) the report was presented in a special event Global Progress on Water and Sanitation.

The presentation gave participants the opportunity to discuss the findings in the light of the HLPF theme for 2018 “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies”, take stock, discuss the challenges faced and opportunities ahead, as well as the lessons learned by countries and other stakeholders for the successful implementation of SDG 6.
