The consultation aims to collect views on how the urban waste water treatment directive (Council Directive 91/271/EEC concerning urban waste water treatment), has affected urban waste water collection and treatment across the EU and thereby improved the state of our water bodies and the environment in general.

The consultation has as objective on the one hand to gather general views from the public on their understanding and relation with (waste) water and on the other hand to gather more detailed information and opinions from experts and public and private entities in charge of implementation on the specificities of the directive.

All individuals and organisations are invited to respond to this consultation.
