We proudly present the "Member of the Month" special feature series that provides insights into the work of our members, the successes they achieve, the challenges they overcome, and the thinking behind their IAWD memberships.
We introduce "Member of the Month" because we all know very well that IAWD's success is driven by lively communication, mutual support and shared know-how and experiences. The better we get to know each other, the more positive energy feeds into our community.
One of our main activities is the organization of conferences/seminars/workshops covering a wide range of water issues for many sectors aiming at both finding sustainable solutions for the water stakeholders but also bringing focus to the water problems for the general society. With several events successfully concluded on an annual basis we can confidently say that this is a rather strong side of the Association. BWA also has years of experience of projects’ management and implementation. Another activity that we are engaged in in the Association is conducting trainings and obtaining additional competencies and qualifications in our officially certified national level Vocational Training Center of BWA. The center aims to improve the qualifications of employees in the water sector by organizing specialized trainings and seminars. Last but not least is the work on our magazine called BULAQUA Magazine. BULAQUA magazine is the official printed publication of BWA, included in the National Reference List of modern Bulgarian scientific publications with scientific review in the National Center for Information and Documentation (NACID) with No. 141. It is published twice a year and is distributed to several institutions, directly related to the water supply and sanitation industry.
The mission of BWA is to support the free, professional activity of all its members and to contribute to solving the problems of water supply and sewerage, treatment of potable and wastewater, efficient use of water resources and environmental protection in the country.
Yes, BWA has YWP chapter.
Bearing in mind the lack of adequately trained employees working in the water sector, we believe that with the involvement of Young Water Professionals in the work of the Association, we can provide a bright future in this area.
Exchange of experiences, capacity building, cooperation with associations from the region and beyond, participation in various events whose organization aims at overall improvement in the water sector, etc.
